Designing, Building & Delivering a Compliant B2B Payments Platform in 12 Months — Integrated with SAP Ariba & Intuit QuickBooks.

CLIENT

A Fortune 500 BFSI Enterprise

“The client engaged Innovecture to design, architect, and deliver a new B2B payments platform from the ground up — automating a process that was heavily manual, error-prone, and costly. The platform required full support for ACH, Check, and Token Card payments, US MSB regulatory compliance, configurable KYB/KYC onboarding, and a plug-and-play API experience.”

NEED

Highly Manual B2B Payment Processes: The client’s existing B2B payment operations were labor-intensive, fragmented across systems, and dependent on manual intervention at every stage — from partner onboarding through payment execution and reconciliation, creating significant operational risk and cost.

Lengthy Partner Onboarding Cycles: Onboarding new business partners required days of manual KYB, KYC, and risk/fraud/AML verification, slowing revenue generation and creating a poor partner experience that undermined competitive positioning.

Regulatory and Compliance Exposure: Operating in a US MSB-regulated environment without a purpose-built compliance layer exposed the organization to growing statutory reporting risk and audit vulnerability as transaction volumes scaled.

Disconnected Procurement & Accounting: The absence of integration between the payment engine and enterprise platforms such as SAP Ariba and Intuit QuickBooks created reconciliation gaps, delayed AP cycles, and reduced visibility across the source-to-pay workflow.

SOLUTION

Full-Stack Platform Design & Delivery: Innovecture defined the product roadmap, solution architecture, and UX design for the US market — then delivered the platform in parallel to the existing system using Agile methodology with bespoke development across Java, COBOL, Angular JS, JSP, Mainframes, DB2, SQL, Oracle, WAS 8.5, and RESTful APIs.

Configurable KYB/KYC Onboarding Engine: A fully configurable onboarding portal was built with integrated KYB, KYC, fraud, AML, and risk checks — enabling new business partners to be verified and activated in hours rather than days, with self-service and CSR-assisted flows.

Multi-Method Payment Orchestration: The platform supports ACH, Check, and Token Card payment methods in a single orchestration layer — with a configurable pricing and fee engine that allows flexible pricing by method, volume, and partner tier.

SAP Ariba & Intuit QuickBooks Integration: RESTful API integrations were delivered for both SAP Ariba (source-to-pay automation, e-invoicing, and PO matching) and Intuit QuickBooks (two-way payment sync, vendor data management, and ledger reconciliation) — creating a connected, end-to-end payment ecosystem for enterprise and SMB clients.

Test Cases

• Full design-to-delivery of a compliant US B2B payments
platform within 12 months.

• New business partners onboarded in hours vs. days using the
configurable KYB/KYC engine.

• New features deployed through a 6-week concept-build-test
cycle via Agile delivery.

• Test cases automated and integrated with DevOps CI/CD
pipelines for continuous quality assurance.

SAP Ariba Integration: The B2B payments engine was integrated with SAP Ariba via RESTful APIs, enabling automated PO matching, invoice validation, and payment execution within Ariba’s source-to-pay workflow. This eliminated manual AP reconciliation, provided real-time payment visibility across the SAP Business Network, and ensured full e-invoicing compliance — accelerating supplier payment cycles and reducing dispute rates.

Intuit QuickBooks Integration: Integration with Intuit QuickBooks (Online and Enterprise) via OAuth 2.0 and the QuickBooks Payments API enabled clients to push B2B transactions directly into accounting ledgers. Automated two-way sync of payments, vendor data, and invoice status eliminated duplicate data entry, reduced reconciliation time, and connected the platform to the QuickBooks Business Network — reaching millions of U.S. businesses.
