Agile Transformation at Scale


A global professional services firm, headquartered in New York City, with businesses in insurance, risk management, investment and management consulting.


Adopt an Agile process, structure, and mindset within technology related projects across four companies under the umbrella organization. The client did not have the required structure and resources to initiate the transformation. A strategic partner was sought to help accomplish this multi-year effort.


Innovecture worked with the client stakeholders to define the transformation approach, coaching structure, and teams. Based on the approach, five teams were identified in the United States, Australia, and Europe as pilot candidates. The aim was to assess Agile maturity, define target maturity and coach the teams to achieve the target maturity in process, tools, and people. Innovecture formed a 15-member coaching team to work closely with the teams. The coaching team established an approach to do assessments, define the target state, and establish a training/coaching approach. Innovecture will complete the pilot in 2021 and will continue to roll out the Agile coaching methodology to multiple teams in 2022.


The “pilot” transformation team, coached by Innovecture Coaches, was an overwhelming success. It was so successful the client accelerated their transformation plan.

The transformation is continuing to succeed as Innovecture continues to deliver high quality Agile and Technical Coaches. The POC has achieved a significant improvement in key software metrics:

1. Historically 95% of business requests were fulfilled within 273 days. Post Coaching, this has improved to 95% of business requests being fulfilled within 63 days.
2. During the same period, software defects have reduced by 75% from 17 per week to 4 per week.

These outcomes have been achieved by adopting agile process, structure, and mindset with respect to technology related projects. Due to the success of this initiative, Innovecture is expanding its team to 25+ coaches to expand this transformation across all four group of companies in 2022.
